Performance of games played through Wine varies considerably but many games will just perform fine with only a minor perfomance loss as compared to native Windows.
This will also include 3D graphics which is supported through Driect X drivers in Wine.
As a rule of thumb: if a game is listed as will be playble just fine but may need some tweaks.
All other ratings indiciate more or less severe issues.

Unlike the PS3 in the PS4 you can play the game while the update downloads, in the PS3 you can't do that, you play or download the update but not both at the same time.
Have you ever downloaded a large 20GB game on Steam only to find out that it won't run due to corrupt or missing files?
